Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Hornsey

This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Hornsey has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our operations or supply chains. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard individuals from any form of exploitation.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Hornsey provides transport, removals and related support services. Our activities rely on a combination of employed staff, contracted drivers, vehicle providers, fuel suppliers, equipment hire companies and other service-based suppliers. We recognise that elements of the logistics and transport sector can be vulnerable to risks of modern slavery, including forced labour, debt bondage and exploitative working conditions.

We are committed to working only with suppliers and partners who share our values and who can demonstrate that they operate in a lawful, ethical and socially responsible manner.

Zero-Tolerance Approach to Modern Slavery

We have a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. Any form of slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, or exploitation is strictly prohibited within our business and supply chain relationships. This commitment extends to all levels of our operations, including recruitment, subcontracting, procurement and day-to-day working practices.

All managers, staff and suppliers are expected to take this stance seriously, to act in accordance with our values, and to report any concerns immediately through our established reporting channels.

Policies and Due Diligence

Our internal policies support our stance on modern slavery and are designed to promote transparency, fairness and respect. These include policies on ethical conduct, recruitment, equal opportunities and health and safety. We expect all staff and contractors to comply with these policies as a condition of working with Man with Van Hornsey.

We conduct due diligence on key suppliers and contractors before entering into new agreements. This may include reviewing their own modern slavery statements or equivalent policies, assessing their labour practices and requesting confirmation that they comply with relevant legislation and industry standards.

Supplier Audits and Ongoing Monitoring

Man with Van Hornsey is committed to monitoring and reviewing supplier practices on an ongoing basis. We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence from our suppliers to demonstrate compliance with our modern slavery expectations. These checks may involve reviewing documentation, speaking with key contacts and, where appropriate, site visits.

If a supplier is found to be in breach of our modern slavery standards, we will work with them to address the issues within an agreed timeframe. Where serious or persistent non-compliance is identified, we will consider suspending or terminating the business relationship.

Training, Awareness and Reporting Channels

We aim to raise awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff, particularly those involved in recruitment, procurement, operations and supplier management. This includes informing them about potential warning signs and how to respond to any concerns.

All staff and contractors are encouraged to report any suspicion of modern slavery, whether within our business or in any part of our supply chains. Concerns can be raised directly with management or through internal escalation routes. Reports will be treated seriously, handled sensitively and investigated promptly. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Hornsey recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. We are committed to continually improving our policies, processes and awareness to reduce the risk of exploitation. Each year, we will review this Modern Slavery Statement, our associated policies and the effectiveness of our actions.

The annual review will consider changes in legislation, industry best practice, feedback from staff and suppliers, and any incidents or concerns raised during the year. Where necessary, we will update our approach and communicate changes to staff and relevant stakeholders to ensure ongoing alignment with our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and human trafficking.
